Koflox 200 Tablets

Uses / Indications:

• Urinary tract infections (UTIs)

• Respiratory tract infections (bronchitis, pneumonia)

• Gastrointestinal infections (infectious diarrhea, typhoid fever)

• Skin and soft tissue infections

• ENT infections (sinusitis, pharyngitis)

• Sexually transmitted infections (e.g., gonorrhea)

• Prostatitis

Dosage & Administration:

• Adults: 200 mg tablet once or twice daily, depending on infection severity

• Route: Oral

• Duration: Typically 5–10 days or as prescribed by a physician

• Important: Take with a full glass of water. Do not take with dairy products or antacids containing magnesium or aluminum.

Mechanism of Action:

Ofloxacin works by inhibiting bacterial DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV, enzymes essential for DNA replication, repair, and transcription in bacteria, ultimately leading to cell death.

Side Effects:

Common:

• Nausea

• Dizziness

• Headache

• Diarrhea

Rare but Serious:

• Tendonitis or tendon rupture

• Photosensitivity

• QT prolongation (heart rhythm issues)

• Allergic reactions (rash, swelling)

• Seizures (in susceptible individuals)

Precautions:

• Not recommended for children, pregnant, or lactating women

• Avoid excessive sunlight or tanning beds

• Caution in patients with seizure disorders, heart conditions, or renal impairment

• Do not consume alcohol during the course

• Complete the full prescribed course, even if symptoms improve early

Store in a cool, dry place, away from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
